Designing journeys that don't exist yet

If it's complex, remote or never done before —
that's where we come in.

The whole journey

Design is not what you see. It's what makes everything work together.

We design, build and refine journeys end to end — bringing territory, people, operations and story into one coherent whole.

What we do

From the first question
to the final detail.

We move between strategy and the ground, holding the entire system together.

Research
& Development

We identify opportunities in remote and emerging territories — mapping locations, partners and cultural context to define where and what to build.

Product &
Journey Design

From concept and structure to storytelling and key moments, we shape how a journey feels — not only what happens.

Operational Design
& Integration

We align logistics, providers, teams, costing and systems so the idea works seamlessly in reality.

Assessment &
Performance

We evaluate existing journeys, lodges and experiences to reveal what works, what doesn't and where value can be unlocked.

We don't design isolated pieces.
We design the full system behind them.

How we think

Five principles. One standard.

How we think

  1. 01Designed by people, for people
  2. 02Access that creates meaning
  3. 03Flow over itinerary
  4. 04Luxury in what you feel, not what you see
  5. 05Built in reality, not in presentations

Challenge

To find what still feels untouched in a world that has already seen everything; where the truly wild lacks comfort and the comfortable has lost its edge.

Approach

Design a sequence with rhythm and meaning. Define what cannot be compromised, ground the experience locally and shape every transition to feel effortless.

Outcome

An original journey conceived, developed and ready for sale in under a year — creating desire, loyalty and the need to return.

AmaWaterways
on the Magdalena

Design and launch of a river journey that brings Colombia's history, culture and people back to the center of the experience.

Challenge

Create a luxury river journey with no precedent, in a country shaped by complexity, history and perception. Reimagine the Magdalena as a destination.

Approach

Two years immersed in the territory, working with communities, operators and institutions to connect people, place and story.

Outcome

The first luxury river cruise itineraries on the Magdalena — a new way of experiencing Colombia, rooted in authenticity and cultural depth.

Field notes

“Start by listening.
Then design what the place
was already asking for.”

Every project begins on the ground — meeting people, understanding constraints and noticing the details no presentation can reveal.

Process

A way through
the unknown.

The studio

We come from
hospitality.

Craftedways is a strategic design and development studio focused on high-end travel and experience. We work at the intersection of vision and reality — where ideas are tested, shaped and made to work.

From hospitare — to welcome. From filoxenía — a deep, genuine care for the stranger. This is where everything begins.

We don't design ideas.
We design journeys that work.

Craftedways Foundation

Magdalena River · Colombia

A journey matters
when possibility stays.

Craftedways Foundation works alongside South American communities to expand educational, cultural and economic opportunity — beginning with children and young people along Colombia's Magdalena River.

01

Talent already lives here

Pinto Talent creates access to music, reading and creative learning in Santa Bárbara de Pinto, helping young people develop the abilities already present in their community.

02

The territory becomes the classroom

TAO Karakali will bring education, field research and conservation together so young people can investigate the river's biodiversity, water, history and cultural heritage.

03

Listen before acting

The work begins by understanding local stories, realities and capabilities, then building partnerships that create opportunity from within the territory.

Our Team

The people behind
the journey.

Biography · 01

Bruna Fornasier

Co-founder & CEO

Bruna started as an actress, wanting to plant a small seed and change the world. At 21, almost by accident, she found tourism, and realised that hosting people well can change lives too.

Since then she has worked across every side of hospitality: as a guide, as a diver, and as Destination Director for Selina, leading 15 properties across Brazil and Ecuador. Today, as founder and CEO of Craftedways, she works where vision meets operations: finding the territory, designing the experience and building the system that makes it work on the ground.

Recent work includes Echo Charlie, a private aviation journey aboard a DC-3 across the Americas and the North Atlantic, where she leads product and experience; and, with her co-founder Beno Atan, the first luxury river cruise on Colombia’s Magdalena River, for AmaWaterways.

Through the Craftedways Foundation, which she co-founded, every journey the team designs aims to leave something behind for the communities that host it.

“If it’s complex, remote or never done before, let’s talk.”
Beno Atan

Biography · 02

Beno Atan

Co-founder & SVP, Research & Development

Beno grew up on Rapa Nui, one of the most remote inhabited islands in the world. It shaped much of how he thinks about tourism today: the relationship between people and place, the importance of local culture, and the responsibility that comes with bringing visitors into a territory.

His career has evolved around developing complex tourism projects from the ground up, combining strategy, product development, operations, partnerships and territorial understanding to turn an idea into something that can actually work in the real world.

At Craftedways, he and Bruna Fornasier take on tourism and hospitality projects that require more than traditional consulting: identifying the opportunity, understanding the territory, designing the product and experience, building the partnerships around it and supporting the operational structure that brings it to life, for companies such as AmaWaterways and Echo Charlie, and for new concepts across Latin America.

The project that best represents this work is AmaWaterways’ river cruise operation on Colombia’s Magdalena River. As Managing Director for AmaWaterways in Colombia, Beno has led everything from shipbuilding and infrastructure to itinerary development, operations, government relations, community engagement and the creation of an entirely new tourism ecosystem along the river.

He also serves as Chairman of the Craftedways Foundation, created so that tourism development can become a platform for conservation, education and long-term opportunity for the communities and territories involved. Across every role, the common thread is the same: remote destinations, new tourism models, complicated logistics, many stakeholders, and ideas that need to move from a presentation into reality.

“If it has not been done before, that is usually where the interesting work begins.”
